Kind Consultancy is working with a long-standing and well-respected alternative Financial Services organisation which is currently seeking a Credit Risk Manager to join them in a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid working model requiring 2 days per week in their Birmingham office.

Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, the Credit Risk Manager will identify, assess and mitigate the risk of financial loss arising from borrowers or counterparties failing to meet their obligations, with key responsibilities including:

• Ensuring lending stays within a defined risk appetite, assessing and developing acquisition and customer management strategies,
• Collaborating with Commercial, Underwriting and Finance business functions to optimise credit decisions and assess credit risk appetite statements and metrics.
• Ensuring support for the development and enhancements of lending policies, scoring models and credit risk frameworks,
• Ensuring lending activities comply with UK regulations such as FCA Consumer Duty, PRA requirements and IFRS9 standards,
• Reporting to stakeholders, preparing management information packs with credit lifecycle and associated emerging risks

Our ideal candidate for the Credit Risk Manager opportunity:

• Has 5 or more years of experience in Credit Analysis and/or Credit Risk Management with SME-level lending expertise,
• Demonstrates strong data skills, including querying datasets and assessing risk models,
• Possesses the advanced Excel skills needed to perform credit risk analysis and stress testing scenarios,
• Has a pragmatic, problem-solving mindset, able to identify emerging risks within back and front lending book,
• Is an excellent communicator in writing and speech, with the ability to translate technical risk metrics into actionable insights for a variety of audiences.
