Kind Consultancy is working with a large Financial Services organisation which is currently seeking a Compliance Advisory Specialist to join them in a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid work model based in their Birmingham office, paying up to £65,000 per year dependent on experience.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the Compliance Advisory Specialist will provide technical advisory services to support the delivery of the firm's Compliance framework, with key responsibilities including:

  • Maintaining and updating compliance policies and guidance for the business and their subsidiaries
  • Providing high-quality technical advice and responsive service to internal teams and subsidiaries, addressing a wide range of queries that require deeper regulatory insight and escalating issues where appropriate
  • Contributing to business and regulatory change projects as a 2nd line specialist, ensuring compliance requirements are identified, translated into tangible actions for the business and implemented effectively.
  • Communicating regulatory changes, their implications and recommended actions clearly and effectively to key business stakeholders
  • Maintaining and developing regulatory knowledge and expertise to support the Head of Compliance in discharge of the responsibility for technical excellence in all applicable matters of law and regulation
  • Overseeing and ensuring the delivery of exceptional support to appointed representatives via the compliance inbox and inbound calls
  • Supporting the continued development, implementation and compliance of critical business areas including conflict of interest, anti-bribery and corruption, whistleblowing, and where applicable fraud and AML risk assessments
  • Leading, managing and developing a Compliance Technician ensuring high performance, effective collaboration and professional growth.

Our ideal candidate for the Compliance Advisory Specialist opportunity:

  • Possesses an expert level of knowledge of the FCA Handbook and the regulatory framework governing mortgage, protection and insurance market. In particular, the Appointed Representative Regime, Approved Persons, Consumer Duty, PROD and SM&CR.
  • Has 5+ years of Financial Services experience, ideally in second line roles
  • Is able to interpret and provide advice and challenge to first line business stakeholders
  • Is CeMAP qualified
  • Has a good understanding of industry rules relevant to Financial Services networks such as Consumer Credit and GDPR
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to speak as a Subject Matter Expert on all regulatory topics
  • Has expert level knowledge of mortgages (regulated and non-regulated), later life lending, protection and general insurance products and an in-depth understanding of the sales process and file standards required.
  • Has excellent knowledge of compliance sales supervision and monitoring procedures, preferably gained within a Network
