Kind Consultancy is working with a well-established Commercial Bank who are embarking on an exciting growth journey. As part of that they are currently seeking a Quality Manager to join them in an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract focussing on Financial Crime quality checks. The Quality Manager will be based in the organisation's West Midlands offices with a hybrid work model requiring 2 in-office days per week.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Quality Manager will perform Quality Control reviews on completed KYC/CDD cases, with other key responsibilities including:

  • Enabling the team to complete end-to-end KYC and CDD reviews for complex or high-risk commercial customers
  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert for regulatory interpretation, unusual entity types and complex ownership structures
  • Providing expert support to investigators on escalations, red flags and bespoke KYC requirements
  • Carrying out second-line escalations to the MLRO or the wider Financial Crime team where necessary
  • Delivering structured feedback, coaching, and follow ups to support analyst development.
  • Leading calibration sessions to drive consistency across the team.
  • Monitoring quality trends, identify themes or recurring gaps, and propose solutions.
  • Training new team members, delivering refresher sessions and supporting onboarding into the KYC framework
  • Monitoring Quality Checking performance, escalating any concerns to the Operations Manager
  • Maintaining and developing KYC procedures, process notes and guidance documentation
  • Monitoring and maintaining RAID (Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs to track operational challenges and propose fixes

Our ideal candidate for the Quality Manager Financial Crime role:

  • Has significant experience of KYC and AML work within a Commercial Banking or Business Banking environment.
  • Possesses expert level knowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG guidance, sanctions requirements, PEP management, and financial crime typologies.
  • Has a strong understanding of legal entity structures (Limited Companies, Charities, Trusts, etc.) and their associated documentation.
  • Has demonstrable experience of performing Quality Control, coaching and/or SME duties.
  • Is able to interpret MI and use it to improve performance, quality, or operational processes.
  • Has strong stakeholder management skills, including working with Compliance, MLRO teams, and operational leadership.
  • Has experience of delivering training, leading calibration sessions, or supporting capability development.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk positions clearly.
  • Is highly organised, with the ability to oversee workflows, manage competing priorities, and support team performance.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends, emerging risks, or recurring issues.
  • Holding a professional financial crime or AML qualification (ICA, ACAMS, or similar) would be desirable, as would experience of contributing to policy development and procedural documentation.
