Kind Consultancy is working with a well-established alternative Financial Services firm which is currently seeking a Senior Financial Crime Compliance Manager & Deputy MLRO to join them in a full-time, permanent position based in their offices in the West Midlands.
This is a high-profile second-line role that combines strategic oversight, expert advisory support, and regulatory engagement, helping to shape and strengthen the firm's financial crime framework. Working closely with the MLRO, the Senior Financial Crime Manager plays a key role in ensuring the business remains compliant with evolving regulatory requirements, with key responsibilities including:
- Supporting the MLRO in the ongoing development and enhancement of the organisation's Financial Crime Risk Management Framework.
- Leading the review and development of policies, standards, risk assessments and controls covering AML, sanctions, fraud, market abuse, bribery & corruption, tax evasion and proliferation financing.
- Providing expert advice and challenge to first-line teams on complex financial crime matters and escalations.
- Preparing management information and reporting for senior leadership, committees and the Board.
- Supporting the production of the annual MLRO Report and wider regulatory submissions.
- Reviewing suspicious activity investigations and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports where required.
- Monitoring emerging regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the firm's financial crime risk framework.
- Designing and delivering financial crime training to colleagues, senior leaders and Board members.
For the Senior Financial Crime Manager and Deputy MLRO opportunity, we're looking for candidates who:
- Have extensive experience within Financial Crime Compliance, Risk or AML oversight within financial services.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of current UK financial crime regulation and associated legal and regulatory requirements.
- Has experience of developing and enhancing financial crime frameworks, policies and controls.
- Has a proven ability to interpret legislation and translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
- Has experience influencing and challenging stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Demonstrates analytical, judgement and decision-making skills.
- Holding Financial Crime qualifications such as ICA would be advantageous, as would having experience of presenting to senior management, committees or Boards would be highly beneficial.
