Kind Consultancy is working with a well-established Challenger Bank which is currently seeking a Regulatory Reporting Data and Controls Manager to join them in a permanent position based in their West Midlands offices.

The Regulatory reporting Data and Controls Manager is responsible for the integrity, governance, and control of all data used in regulatory reporting, and for leading the implementation of automated reporting solutions across the Bank, with key responsibilities including:

  • Leading the data governance and control framework underpinning all regulatory submissions.
  • Owning the end-to-end data lineage and transformation logic used in regulatory reporting, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and auditability.
  • Maintaining and enhancing validation rules, reconciliations, and exception reporting to ensure high quality regulatory data.
  • Ensuring regulatory reporting data meets PRA expectations for completeness, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Owning the implementation of automated reporting solutions, working closely with the data team and third party providers.
  • Overseeing testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of automation logic and reporting pipelines.
  • Ensuring automation aligns with regulatory requirements, reporting methodologies, and transformation logic.
  • Driving continuous improvement in reporting efficiency, control strength, and data quality.
  • Future-proofing automation logic by anticipating regulatory change and wider Bank change, ensuring new requirements can be incorporated efficiently, and maintaining scalable, adaptable reporting processes.
  • Managing and overseeing the regulatory reporting timetable, ensuring all submissions are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Leading the production and review of capital reporting, including RWAs, own funds, leverage ratio, and SDDT requirements.
  • Owning Pillar 3 reporting, including coordination, drafting, data sourcing, and governance.
  • Maintaining strong documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and processes.
  • Managing the control framework for returns prepared outside the Regulatory Reporting team, including oversight, challenge, and assurance over data quality, controls, and submission governance.
  • Ensuring regulatory change and change resulting from wider bank activity is correctly reflected in reporting logic, automation, and data flows.
  • Updating methodologies, data models, and transformation logic in line with new regulatory requirements.

Our ideal candidate for the Regulatory Reporting Data and Controls Manager:

  • Has strong knowledge of prudential regulatory reporting (COREP, capital, SDDT, Pillar 3) and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Is a fully qualified accountant.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of regulatory reporting data flows, transformation logic, and data lineage.
  • Has experience with reporting automation tools (e.g. Regnology) and working with Data/Technology teams.
  • Demonstrates excellent, practical data skills, including working with structured datasets, validation rules, and data modelling for regulatory reporting.
  • Has proven experience in regulatory reporting, data governance, or controls within Financial Services.
  • Has strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a robust control mindset.
  • Possesses effective communication and stakeholder management skills across Finance, Risk, Technology, and Data.
  • Is able to manage deadlines, reporting timetables, and continuous process improvement.
