Lending Officer – Fixed Term Contract

Kind Consultancy is working with a successful and still growing challenger bank which is currently seeking a Lending Officer to join their Asset Finance division in their East Midlands offices on a fixed term contract running to November 2024.

The Lending Officer will act as a key point of contact for Asset Finance customers and introducers and will also provide support to the Head of Asset Finance, and the Sales team.  They will need to effectively manage relationships with brokers, introducers, and other stakeholders.

  • Has experience of liaising with customers and brokers in relation to credit risk applications.
  • Has strong knowledge of Asset Lending and experience of work in a Sales/Marketing environment
  • Has experience of Compliance and good knowledge of Financial Services regulations

  • Is PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Commercial Recoveries Partner – 12 Month FTC

Kind Consultancy is working with a well-established Challenger Bank which is currently seeking a Commercial Recoveries Partner to join them in a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract paying up to £65,000 with a hybrid work model 50% based in their East Midlands offices.

The Commercial Recoveries Partner will report to the Head of Business Support and will assist in the administration of non-performing loan books in both Real Estate Finance and Asset Finance, monitoring and controlling loan account arrears, minimising the risk of loss. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising and supporting borrowers in developing and implementing optimal strategies to return their loans to performing status, including the appointment of reporting accountants, debt restructuring, further borrowing and refinance of the loans with alternative products and/or lenders.
  • Assessing the credibility of borrowers’ recovery plans and their ability to implement them and monitoring the performance of loans against their recovery plans and advising the borrowers on any amendments required as appropriate.
  • Quickly identifying those borrowers who do not have a credible recovery strategy to move these accounts into resolution (e.g. receivership, call up of guarantees, etc).
  • Assessing, analysing and making recommendations to the Head of Business Support of appropriate action on non-performing loans to aid recovery and mitigate losses.
  • Liaising with any appointed Solicitor, Insolvency Practitioner and /or Receiver to recover the Bank’s debt, communicating with the borrower, where appropriate, to facilitate co-operation to achieve loan recovery objectives.
  • Working closely with the Bank’s panel of receivers, valuers and property managers to maximise the amount realised from the resolution of distressed loans.
  • Managing the daily loan arrears in Real Estate Finance and Asset Finance in line with the Bank’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Recommending loan accounts that, due to an adverse track record, qualify for inclusion onto the Bank’s Watch Lists and Early Warning Reports, in line with the Non-Performing Loan Policy

Our ideal candidate for the Commercial Recoveries Partner 12 Month FTC :

  • Has a good level of financial and commercial awareness with a proven record of success in commercial banking relationship management
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organisational and IT skills
  • Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills developed from a credit-based background or similar, including annual accounts/cashflow/MI analysis
  • Has well developed general knowledge of the commercial environment and sector specialisms including Real Estate lending, Asset Finance, Classic Cars and the SME market
  • Has a good understanding of Conduct and TCF requirements relevant to Real Estate and Asset Finance lending and of the identification and treatment of Vulnerable Customers

Head of Credit – Asset Finance Flow

Kind Consultancy is working with a successful challenger bank which is currently seeking a Head of Credit to join their new Asset Finance Flow division, in a full time permanent role with a hybrid work model based in their East Midlands offices and a competitive salary

The Head of Credit – Asset Finance Flow will build, develop and execute the implementation of the new business line, driving processes and procedures, contributing to systems selection, strategic input to Credit Committee and developing key stakeholder relationships, with key responsibilities including:

  • Implementing the Business Plan for the Asset Finance Flow business as part of the bank’s overall objectives.
  • Leading the Asset Finance Flow Team, providing effective coaching to develop team members, ensuring the individual and collective performance meets the required standards.
  • Processing high volumes of new business proposals and promoting a high level of service to ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Undertaking analysis and determining the acceptability of proposals for sanction and if applicable providing recommendations or alternative solutions where appropriate that satisfy customer needs and meets business objectives.
  • Ensuring the main influencing factors and sanctioning analysis are accurately recorded when reaching a decision or recommendation.
  • Facilitating business development through a proactive approach to credit proposals, ensure opportunities are maximised
  • Ensuring compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and guidelines together with all appropriate regulatory and statutory requirements, implementing actions to always protect the bank’s business.
  • As a member of the bank’s Credit Committee, preparing appropriate MI on the flow portfolio, driving and recommending enhancements to the flow business for consideration.
  • Communicating relevant information to team members, senior management and other interested parties ensuring essential features of the situation are understood, enabling informed decisions to be taken where appropriate.
  • Proactively reviewing credit processes, systems, business protocols and guidelines and recommending changes that will deliver operational efficiencies

For the Head of Credit – Asset Finance Flow opportunity we’re looking for candidates who:

  • Have significant experience as a Head of Credit or Senior Manager for a flow asset finance business
  • Have experience in leading a team and developing individuals.
  • Are able to analyse a set of accounts, including serviceability, credit reporting agency data and asset valuations.
  • Possess a high level of financial and commercial awareness, and knowledge of the relevant rules under the financial services acts
  • Holding ACIB or equivalent Banking qualification would be highly desirable
  • Have a wide knowledge of the commercial environment and sector specialism.
  • Have knowledge of financial management and wider management principles and techniques
  • Have experience of Conduct Risk and Treating Customers Fairly requirements relevant to credit operations.
